  RR stylefully makes an entrance into the dark blue cosmos on the ep’s first track, ‘Astral Wayfarer’…this is space cruising, soulful and melodic techno with golden era aura feel. The beat here is carried by a rich and subtle kick, complete with carefully placed 808 rim shots, and a swinging, head nodding, bouncy rhythm that reminds you of those soulful New Jack days and their similarities shared in more of the deep soulful, Detroit techno during that same period of time.
  
  Soulful chords from the Yamaha DX100 flow along space currents of deep basslines, samples and melodic glassy arpeggios from the Alpha Juno. This track creates a lovely scene with smokey Sunday night vibes, and although incredibly smooth, its strong Detroit accent will surely set the groove.
  
  Detours are always nice too, like on ‘Go South’ where we cruise south to the ghettos of the earth, for some breakin electrofunk. The main lush chord sample that carries the melody of the track is a shout out to a very accomplished and familiar artist in the electro scene,if you know your music. In space we have space stations, but Go South prefers to use a Nova Bass station II for its cosmic bassline affairs.
  
  Furthermore, it’s crunchy, computer like, drum claps give it the feel of a Kraftwerk style beat, yet it goes in it’s own unique direction with a spacey, lush, and funky melody on top. Again, superbly crafted vision here, and what’s cool about it, is that it shows a side of the artist just having fun, and yet creating something quite memorable. Top stuff.
  
  Flip over this gem ep and experience ‘Solice’ -a track title living up to its definition whilproviding some groovacious and melodic moments of fine electro. Head nodding 808 snares and kick arrangements serve as a foundation for playful swirls of crystal pad arpeggios from the Yamaha DX100 and Roland Alpha Juno that will entangle your ears with pure delight.
  
  The chord melodies are almost jazzy in their free arrangement; this arpeggiated style along with subtle mists of lively acid and a smooth lead melody create quite the deep atmosphere, while its lush, cool, and grooveful nature makes it easily accessible at the same time; ya know at home, in the car, or the coolest bar.
  
  However space is the place here, and this, as I’ve said before, is deep electro with plenty of atmosphere; RR is quickly creating his own signature on this style with masterfully crafted soulful electro like Solice. A superb, deep track and a highlight on a very strong ep.
  
  Propersounds 003 finishes strong with the sun drenched and mythical musical aesthetics of ‘Welcome to Microworld’…a place where the sound of the day is Atkins/Model 500 Detroit influenced electro with RRs signature touch on deep atmospheric electro vibes.
  
  It has very clean 808 drum pattern elements, the right touch of funk, and a highly addictive bassline and rhythm that glows with that moody, spacey Larry Heard like atmosphere that we all love. The picture is perfected clearly with its bleeps and sunny pads- call it space tropics if you must…Welcome to Microworld where the listener can also feel the heat in the room from the bright aura of raw machines that comprise this excellent concluding moment on Propersounds 003.
